BLEACH + TONE Q & A

Ever wanted to be a platinum blonde like Gwen Stefani or Marilyn Monroe and wonder why their hair looks so good but yours doesn’t? Well let me break it down for you:

THE SCIENCE OF YOUR HAIR
Hair color is measured on a level of 1-10
1 being black and 10 being the brightest or platinum blonde

Then there’s hair texture from coarse to fine.

Coarse hair tends to fall in the color scale of 1-5 and can be very difficult to work with not to mention will only get to a certain level before getting dry and brittle.

Medium  hair is the best to work with its and can be anywhere on the color scale of 1-10 its pretty durable and can handle almost any color you put on it while…

Fine hair usually on the color scale of 5-10 can only take so much before becoming dry and brittle

THE BLEACH…
So when you’re looking to go platinum you have to take in these two considerations
1) what level is my hair?
2) what texture is my hair?

Because you will be stripping all the color and a lot of moisture out of your hair, you have to make sure you do it at the right speed.  Watch out because if you go too fast on fine hair, you’ll fry it.  Go too slow on dark, coarse hair and you’ll end up orange. Once you’ve determined that your hair can handle the bleach then you can decide on what tone you want.

… AND THE TONE
Tone is defined as the characteristic of the hair color i.e. ash, warm, golden, cool. These are typical ways to describe Tone.  The tone is going to be your final color and that’s how girls get that grey blonde or champagne blonde.
